Connections to a life and more. For me, living with Parkinson’s and living through the disease is my opportunity, my calling, if you will, to connect with others. Not exclusively a community of people with Parkinson’s, but a community with people; I am not defined or identified by my disease; I am a person who is many other things, one being Parkinson’s.
Whether my connections are with my medical team, support group, family near and far, close friends, acquaintances, or neighbors, I find strength and support both in my life and on my journey. These are those points of connection that somehow bring us into a community. No matter how brief or long the connections are kept, each enhances and creates the other as part of this connection.
These are the connections in my life. Some may seem unrelated, but there is something that moves me on to the next junction. Some may even seem so far out there that you can see absolute relation to the rest of the community, but there are connections to my life and within it. Much more.
